Beginning in 2010, every Tuesday evening, from 7:00-8:30 pm, Lucy Bailey KPA-CTP, CPDT-KA, of Dogs Unleashed is at Kingsbury Animal Hospital to offer her expertise about your dog's behavior/training. These sessions are limited to 6 dogs per night for a fee of $25. You may bring your puppy, adolescent or adult dog* for general advice about training as well as any specific training issues you'd like her to address.
Topics covered typically include how to prevent or manage unwanted behavior and how to teach new behaviors. Using scientific techniques we practice a few specific foundation behaviors so that participants can learn what they need to know to teach their dogs anything.
Anyone may register to attend one of these sessions; you do not have to be a client of Kingsbury Animal Hospital. This is a great way for prospective Dogs Unleashed clients to meet Lucy and talk with her about their dogs' issues. Please call Kingsbury Animal Hospital at (314) 721-6251 to register.
* We will not be able to work with aggressive dogs in this setting, however if you have concerns about your aggressive dog we can set up an individual consultation with Dr. Brammeier.

A limited number of appointments are available. It is best to call well in advance. Frequently, Lucy will have an assistant or an apprentice with her.
We will come to your home to work individually with you and your dog. This package includes an initial visit of 1-1/2 hours and a follow-up appointment 1 hour in length to be scheduled between 1 week and 1 month later.
These one-hour, in-home appointments follow the completion of a Behavior Solution Starter Package. We will be glad to help you continue to work toward your behavior and training goals.
Can’t make it to Kingsbury Animal Hospital on Tuesdays? We can bring a Behavior Briefing to your home by appointment. This allows us to coach you in getting started with your dog.
Whether you have had a dog before or you are looking for your first canine friend, it takes some effort to find a good match for you and your circumstances. Let us help you find the right puppy or dog for you.
We can help you prepare for your new puppy. This package includes a pre-arrival visit lasting 1-1/2 hours, in which we talk about puppy behavior, what you can expect from your new puppy, and how to prepare your home and family for the puppy’s arrival. A second, 1-hour visit is scheduled within the week that the puppy arrives, to answer questions and ensure that the puppy and family are getting off to a good start together. Preventing problems from the beginning is always easier than solving them later! Well worth the investment. This is a great gift for your friend or relative who is getting a new puppy.
Too late for Puppy Prep – the puppy is here! We will come out for a 1-1/2 hour visit to help you get off to the right start.
Many breeders are aware of the value of “puppy-testing” their litters at 7 weeks of age. Special tests are used as an aid in matching each puppy to the most appropriate home for its particular personality and needs. We have evaluated many litters over the past twenty years. We are glad to offer this service to breeders for their litters, or to individuals who would like one or more puppies in a litter evaluated as pet prospects for themselves (with the breeder’s consent, or at a shelter).
Our primary service area is Mid-County St. Louis and the area around Forest Park. This includes: Clayton – Ladue – Richmond Heights – University City - Brentwood – Maplewood – and the Central West End. We prefer to work in this general area. We will occasionally accept a client outside this area, but there will be an additional fee for time and travel.
